I have not bought the car as an investment ( as a side note I am looking to invest in something ... 30-40k .. any ideas ?)
you would generally expect anything Porsche with a limited run to appreciate - with £30-£40k a Boxster Spyder could be interesting?

E46 M3 CSL? Although they are probably North of this price point already, I haven't looked for a while.

Anything.

I have a few things on my list in that bracket which haven't taken off yet, but there's never enough in it as long term the servicing etc eats profit.

CSLs are about 60-100k I think.

I'd got the SOS/ CT Engineering route. Yes it may weigh abit more but it reliable.

I done multiple trackdays & ring trips and it's always been a solid system.

Easy to work on and simple

^^
5K and using CT fpr /acm or standalone ?
I like the thought of Novi 1200SL with icebox & a nice looking airbox/intake
any thoughts of running with the above fpr.acm or ? as read its in need of proper EMS for reliability ?
gather it retards ignition and sorts fuel needs or am I wrong?

The more BHP you get the more strain on the engine... simple logic. HKS is the more gentle of kits as it creates good power but very very reliable
Also the investment thing was aimed at the people saying keep it NA, worth more money etc.

Interesting. What makes it more 'gentle' than other kits that produce the same boost and even use the same Rotrex charger? And what do you mean by 'gentle'?

PHP - Real estate investment trust renting property to the NHS

cars, you can make money but i think luck is involved, in 2012 a mint E46 CSL was £30k now they are £70k for a real low miler... here's a moderate miler

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122585982193

a 458 might return 5%

The more boost and power you run the harder the engine is being worked/strained... not rocket science.
The other kits make 400+WHP where as the HKS makes around 320whp and has been made to be a reliable daily setup, was the whole point of the kit.

Just charge it and have fun, you only live once

But if it's the same charger providing the same boost, but less power, that's not gentler, that's just inefficient! Other kits (TTS Supersport for example) don't make 400WHP, more like 350-400BHP (unless you run the big race kits which are up near 500), so pretty similar to HKS. The main differences in the HKS kit is the mounting bracket and ancillaries (piping, intercooler etc), not power or 'gentleness' to the engine, unless you're comparing with more 'serious' race kits that produce more boost at the intake manifold.
