Default Cheap Microfibre Cloths

I've just purchased and used some cheap Microfibre cloths from Dunelm and their great value, just 89p.

Hi PC - these places must be pretty local to me as you are recommending them - where are they please?

Are there any quality (ie they scratch your car ) issues with buying cheap MF towels? Some of the ones from auto detail specialists are bloody expensive - what is the difference????

There are many different grades of MF towels, I believe that they are all made of synthetic materials but in my experience the more expensive varieties are less prone to shedding their fibres - this is especially noticeable on glass.

I personally wouldn't want to use a bargain bucket towel on paintwork but for interior cleaning, wheels, under the bonnet etc. they would be ideal.

Hi ian,

Wilkinsons and Lidl's are both in Burgess Hill (lidl's next to argos and wilk in the martlets.)

They had quite a few different brands of MF towels, so i couldn't tell you if one is more prone to scratching. Lidl's had a very fine almost fluffy towel that was labelled for use on glass.

It's probably worth buying one of each and testing on an unwanted CD to see if you can scratch it. They are only about a quid each anyway.
