Default Cheetah radar detector

Ok, so this sounds good:

http://www.speedcheetah.co.uk/index2.htm

...and if you look here :

http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/cheetah.htm

...you'll see that they seem to like it too.

So the questions are twofold:

1) Is it as good as they say?
and
2) Has anyone plumbed one into an S2000?

I like the sound of it as it's neat, unobtrusive and functional, but is it necessarily better than anything else at this price range...?

That seems cheap - never heard of them before.

Plumbing in would be very easy - just run the cables under the roof rubber through to under the dash, & hard wire.

thing is you need more than just a radar detector these days, for all the specs `o^o` cameras, ds2 and truvelos too

That's a true point, but up here (East Lancs) there's just millions of Gatsos and laser equipped rozzers at the side of the road. Those specs cameras (and the rest) that exist are pretty easily spotted (i.e. roadworks on the motorway).

What would you recommend to do the lot?

I think that it'll be less time consuming and instrusive to just wire it to the accessory power supply next to the driver's side door. It's a 5-10 minute job.

Just think, with the interior light option, one could merely open ones door when travelling under the speed limit to deactivate the device. Or open it to switch it on, when exceeding.

70 in a 60, open door, SAVED!

30 in a 40, open door, safe again.

DAERN - check out the thread on 5th gear they reviewed the CHEETAH on there. Apparently really good on the GATSO but the LASER was really bad didn't pick it up at all. Tiff said the manufacture was looking into it. They thought the interior mirror idea was great and was good value for money.
