Chipsaway strike again
Some of you may remember that I've had problems with Chipsaway, here's an update.
In March 2004 I employed Chipsaway to fix a dent on my sill. IIRC he filled and painted it. He also "repaired" my wing which had some large stone chips. Total cost for both jobs

Chipsaway quality seems to be very much down to the skill of the individual in your area that has the franchise.
I'd say it depends upon how long their work is guaranteed for. If you get the other half of the total job cost back i.e.

you have learnt your lesson - chips away and the countless copycat services are simply for when you are selling your car and want it to look fine for no longer than 6 months.
Bodyshop is the only way to go for proper repairs and costs pretty much the same!
Just swallow it like a man and get it done pro...

A friend of mine who has a Bodyshop & says that due to the nature that these 'Chipaway' type of companies operate, ie quick in & out type of service - work done at your home / office / in the street etc - they have to use 'Acrylic' based Paints - Body shops use a 'Two-part Paint' which has time to Dry thoroughly between 'Coats' - hence as we have all seen - 6 Months later - it all comes off when you wash the car etc !
These people are used in the main to tidy up a car prior to a Sale - it only has to last long enough to get the vehicle moved onto some other poor punter !
