Classic Carriers Boot Rack

Classic Carriers Boot Rack
Anyone managed to fit a Classic Carrier Boot Rack successfully?
I have just bought one and I find that firstly the forward hooks won't fit in the gap between the boot lid and the rear scuttle with the protector strips in place. Effectivelly what this means is that the boot won't close without these hooks damaging the rear scuttle.
Secondly, the forward hooks are incorporated within the upper straps (They are not seperate as the fitting diagram suggests). What this means is that I can assemble the upper and lower straps to the boot lid but then the rear rack mounting holes are in the wrong place so the rack wont fit.
I have emailed the supplier many times now on this but strangly now that he has my money he will not reply!
If anyone can help on this it would be apprecieated.

Hi all,
Now the boot rack is on I need some advice on how to keep the luggage strapped to it watertight!
A boot box (Like a Roof Box only smaller) would be nice but can't find one anywhere.
What does everyone else do?

When I owned a classic sports car of the 1950's period I use a weather beaten leather suitcase and wrapped the contents in a black plastic bag(s), thus it did not matter if water got into the case.
Maybe a modern suit case using the same procedure would fit the bill, or check out the aluminium boot rack case that Mazda sell - very expensive but does look modern.
You might want to put a GB sticker or something over the countersunk Mazda logo though.
