Clay + Scratch X Advice Please...
I wanted to clay my car and then use Scratch X on it to try and get rid of some of the swirls that have been scratched in (By the previous owner
)
I have never used a clay bar before and have only recently found this "Scratch X" product, has anybody used em and are they any good ?
My S is black and any little imperfections really show up once I've polished it up. I was also thinking about getting my self some Zymol but after seeing the price of it, I have to ask is it really that much better than other waxes? I don't mind paying for it as long as the results are better that the stuff I use now (Turtle Wax) which gives me a nice shine.
Any advice would be great, thanks....

I've yet to use my Zymol pack due to the crappy weather (the car stays in the garage most of the time) but from Tif's photos it seems that the high price is justified.
Also many Boxster owners seem to use Zymol.

I was thinking about using the clay (how exactly do you use it?) then some Scratch X (if its any good - anyone?) and then starting to use Zymol products.
This should mean that there'll be no trace of any other wax or stuff, right ?
Cheers

steve54I have used the zymol recently on both cars and it is well justified and this was cold wet weather, so i cant wait for warmer weather to do the cars properly.

i used zymol and CC used zaino.
The choice is yours
I used mequires clay bar on the micra and you can feel the difference, it sounded like scratching when chamois after washing.
As to the way to use, i followed the instructions. rinsed, washed, rinsed and dryed, then used the clay bar as directed. Then rinsed off and chamois dry, much smoother and silent.
Applied zymol and the micra is still looking good a month later and is easy to clean and dry.

Steve54:
I've used claybars and they work well. If an area feels rough to the touch, the clay will usually fix that. Just follow the instructions and you'll get the hang of it pretty fast. Just keep the area your working on lubed and don't press the clay into the surface as you work. You can "feel" the roughness being cleaned out of the surface as you glide over it. Fold the clay often to keep a fresh surface. If you drop it on the ground throw it away.
I've never used the Scratch X. I've heard that it doesn't work as well as you would like - especially on dark paint.

Excellent, thanks.
I'll get some clay and Zymol ordered, any word on the Scratch X - I would really like to remove / dullen the scratches that can be seen after a good clean and polish.
Thanks for the help...
