Default Clicking Soft Top and slight whine

Hello to you all,

I picked up my car last Wed and have not really been out with the hood up that much, but when I have there is a clicking sound coming from it when the car is moving which seems to come from the area behind the passenger and drivers head - is this normal - it doesn't really bother me but girlfriend wont stop moaning.

And whilst I am here, accelerating lightly in fourth from about 30-35mph there is slight whine - is this normal????

Other than this I am loving the car and loving this site.

I get a bit of a clicking noise. I think you have to expect some movement in the top, which is the probable cause.

Are you sure this is coming from the roof, I am quite tall and drive with my seat back as far as it will go. With the roof up I do notice a clicking noise, if I adjust my seat forward slighly the noise goes away.

Yeah, the clicking could be that.

I don't get any whining noise, but there is a screaming noise if I accelerate or corner hard...but only when I've got a passenger

It's the extra weight in the passenger seat, Richie - tell Sarah she weighs too much and has to lose some of it

I'm not sure whether it's my imagination, but I do sometimes think that there's more wind noise in the 04 at upwards of 70-80 than there was in the 02. Jenny is convinced there is.

Now the screaming noise has turned into a yelling noise. Not an improvement, but...

I think I'd get a sharp stabbing pain in my leg if I said that whilst driving.

Roof noise could be the hinge above your head.. See this link

Roof Rattle

I found by pushing the roof bar above your head forward towards the windscreen will make it stop showing it is to do with one of the hinges.

Funnily enough I also get this whine at low revs in 3rd 4th which I thought came from the diff, but found pushing in the clutch makes it stop.. So I have no idea! (perhap it is the diff, but only happens under load?)
