As I have a thermometer in my watch the easiest way for me to find out what the temperature is outside is to put the top down

I've just seen that clock/temp device of xviper's in Halfords SuperStore here in Shrewsbury. It has a backlight and outside temp sensor, However, I couldn't see anywhere I could fit it (having the hardtop on). So I guess I'll just keeo relying on my groovy Suunto

Halfords by us have these xviper type clocks in a choice of black or silver surround. You get a choice of clock/ ambient temp or or a shorter version which is quite neat with just a clock, the advantage being no trailing wires if you're not interested in the ambient temperature. Being in decisive mode I've left it for now!

Every time I change my stereo I keep hoping it'll have a clock on it but no joy so far. I think a stick on job or one of those all singing and dancing rear view mirror replacements is the easy option.
Did you ever find this link Tif?

I am about to become a 2 'clockless' car family, and I have a sneaking suspicion that my wife will be far less tolerant of the omission than me

yeah I did but the installation requires you to heat up the existing "button" that the OEM mirror attaches to the glass with using a heat gun/blow torch and then knock it off the glass with a hammer and chisel. Its about this point I started having second thoughts

I'll try and dig it up for you again though but I can't believe the Stream of all cars comes without a clock

The Sony in-car range normally tell you the time but FWIW here is that thread:

At your own risk

I forgot the blow torch and pliers alternative route (these guys would have had a great time as Inquisitors )
