vibration under deceleration?
Hi all,
had this issue for a while and had a search on here, but couldnt find an answer.
basically theres a lot of vibration when decelerating in gear, coming either from the middle or the rear of the car, my mechanic had a look and said it could be the driveshaft or diff.
looking through the forum i can only see info regarding vibration under acceleration or a diff whine, neither of which cover this issue!
any help appreciated.
cheers

i wouldnt say its the clutch, as the clutch is perfect when the car is being driven, doesnt slip or anything, and it is relatively new.
the vibration takes over the whole car too, its quite substantial... when i go out later i will test if its speed or RPM dependent as some other threads have suggested

is this the half shaft thing where you swap the inside parts over from each side?
thats the closest i could see to the issue, as its common on lowered cars too which this is. but again that is under acceleration not deceleration i think...

Does it do it in neutral with braking? If so it's probably more likely suspension related, whereas if it's only in gear it's probably to do with the drive train.

its really hard to define a buzz or vibration but it does sound like a buzz, but its only when in gear and it is quite loud and makes the rear view mirror shake a bit which i dont think a buzz would do? hence why my mechanic stated its probably drive shaft or diff....
