Default Clutch Problem

Hello,

The other day my clutch went from perfectly fine to slipping at over 2000. No problem before, no slight slipping at high revs or anything like that and it's only done 17k from new. Most of those miles are just commute to work (no queues).

The notable thing is the pedal now sticks when you first press it, say the first 1/3 of it - really hard to press, then it feels normal after that.

We've removed that delay valve from the slave cylinder with the hope it was causing some troubles, fully bled it and it's still the same

Any ideas or has the clutch literally just gone? If so, that's rediculous.

sounds like pressure plate is not putting the full clamping force on the plate, try taking the fork out and greasing it. have you checked the slave cylinder is going back all the way its not holding the plate slightly open is it? fork should not have any hard load on it when clutch is not in use.

Slave cylinder is apparently functioning correctly, but I guess we'll have to take the box out and check on the things you said.

Just priced a clutch £530

I doubt i can get it done on warranty cos we took that delay valve out

Measure the stroke of the piston when it's beig activated. It's unusual for a clutch to go like that it usually starts at high load
There is no sign of oil from the bell house is there?

If you are still within warranty, put the delay valve back in, take it to Honda

The fork can be done with out dropping the box

That was my initial thought but pretty sure they'll notice it's been messed with!

We had the master cylinder off last nite, plunger working fine - so it must be the one on the slave cylinder, going to check it tonight.

Buy a new slave cylinder with the valve in it, swap them over, send to dealer, demand they fix it.....Roberts your mothers brother.....
