Default Clutch problem

Hi

I have an issue with my clutch which has got gradually worse over the last 2 months.....

The symtoms are- it makes a noise heard from outside the car when pedal is depressed and you can feel a catching/ rubbing feel through the Pedal when pressing.

I visited my local dealer a month back who said it seemed like the master cylinder but to see how much worse it gets and then take back.

I have an extended Honda warranty so not too worried but its starting to annoy me when driving!

Car is an 09 and has done 30k

Probably this. I'd be printing this out and taking it into your dealer rather than getting my hands dirty if you have a warranty.

This happened to me as well but I had to grease up the fork inside the box to fix mine as just greasing the nipple made no difference.....best to do the lot I would say!

You might need to file off & polish the nipple that forms on the ball on the end of the slave cyl. rod.

That's the other frequent cause.

Just got my car back from the dealer, they said it could not be a warranty item as its due to 'wear & tear'!! Slightly angered as it's only covered 30k and is 3years old, not great build quality!!

Anyway, they stripped it down and is now rectified but they charged me £125 for the privilege!!

Its made me think however, either ive been incredibly unlucky or these cars really are not as 'bomb-proof' as their reputation suggests.....

My car is 3 years old, im the second owner and in 18 months of ownership ive had the following replaced under warranty:

4 x rear light clusters (2 each side) due to moisture/ dirt ingress

The pedal box replaced due to an issue with the brake pedal

1 new roof catch as it was loose

1 new drivers side sun visor, it was rattling, the replacement has now started doing the same

And now this issue with the clutch.

I actually dont really care that much as I still love the car, dispite the £435 road tax.

Im just surprised at the list of replacement parts on a relatively new car.

Very glad I took out the extended warranty when it was offered!

That really is quite a list!

Either you are very unlucky and bought a monday morning car or maybe the latest ones aren't as reliable as the rest

I think the general opinion is that Honda quality has gone to rats' shit in the last few years.

It's not just the S2000, by all accounts.

That's my impression!

Although I was having a look at the new CR-V in the showroom today and it looks very nice! I'm of the belief that no one should buy a 4x4 unless they have good reason..... however if I were to 'need' a 4x4 I would probably choose the CR-V over a German or British alternative.
