You are both partially correct. Depending on the car shape, adding rake increases the cars angle of attack and sheer air mass/Newtons laws 2 and 3 will offer up more downforce assuming you can avoid turbulence/stall from to great an angle of attack!

Flat floor will only increase your downforce if you can prevent air leaking in from the side as the pressure drops.

Forget aero, at S2000 level, it'll be all about weight transfer and balance!

Less rake = more understeer, less oversteer

More rake = less understeer, more oversteer

and IMO changes in rake do make a noticeable difference.

My car currently has 5 mm of rake, which has made it feel 'less pointy' and a bit like it's dragging its arse around IYKWIM, compared to when it had 10 mm of rake.

It is quite feasible to setup the car with neutral rake and not suffer untoward effects, provided the rear toe is setup accordingly.

I had this on my S and it accelerated, stopped and handled extremely well.

I agree, will be trying less rear toe when the car goes for its next geo.

Less rear toe is always good for me.

Adjustable toe arms allow you to run less rear toe and not suffer poor handling...although I'm sure you've got some already Chris
