Having got up to find a bright clear cold morning and having to take on the wearysome task of driving the car 100 miles back to Leicester I noticed that it was noisier than usual. It made a better, louder noise.

Have other people noticed that it sounds louder when it's cold?

Is this because it's taking in colder denser air?

Or are the acoustics just different in cold air?

Or am I imagining this?

 

Must admit its hard to tell as I have my airbox cover off pretty much permanently.
