Default Condensation Problem

I climbed into the S last night having not driven it for a week. When I closed the door, I was splattered with drops of condensation shaken from the inside of the soft-top

Has anyone else experienced this?? What is the cause and more to the point, how do I solve it????

Lots of similar complaints in this thread....

I am getting similar problems with my hardtop but I think it just needs to be adjusted.

Cheers Steven but I can't find any sign of a leak as such, just a lot of drips hanging from the inside of the roof

I had a look at mine this morning and at the front of the roof it isn't sealing cause I can see paintwork and rain droplets when I look up.

The roof clips have verly little tension on them so I think that I need to adjust them.

I have been using the aircon to clear the condensation build up but it is still taking a good 10 minutes to clear the windows

I replaced the roof clips in the summer and there is no water coming in from the top of the screen. The car has been standing for a week and I can't find any sign of a leak (the carpet is dry and there are no water marks on the inside to indicate that water is getting in anywhere.

Funny weather recently. Not that cold but v. damp. That might account for it. I noticed a similar thing in my Scorpio the other day. It doesn't leak and had been left standing for no more than a week.

The windscreen was soaked inside, to such an extent I thought I had left the roof open or something. Not the case though. I also found it took the aircon about 15 minutes to clear it, there was so much moisture.

So I think it's global warming.

Worth checking you don't have the recirculation on though. The car will steam up very quickly then.

The windows on my Mondeo were pretty damp the other day after standing for two days but nothing like the S. Seemed like an awfull lot of water went down the back of my neck when I closed the door

I used the Autoglym kit on the roof in the summer and now wonder if I should pray for a warmish dry day and apply a coat of 303. Could this help?

I think a good long drive with the heater/aircon on would be a more fun way of clearing it.

Wonder if the sky will ever stop crying?

I now know why they fit aircon as standard, don't need it in the summer, but you certainly do in the winter to clear the condensation which seems to be a big feature of this car. Car is 2 months old, hardtop on, no leaks but condensation can be quite bad.....

What I would give for heated mirrors also....

(Still a fantastic car though !)
