When I bought my car almost eight years ago I asked for a supply of radiator topup liquid. They gave me, gratis, a 5L container marked 'HONDA ULTRA RADIATOR LIQUID ready to use 50/50 blend.'

However the level has never varied (except, of course, hot to cold), so I have not had to use any. If I were you, I would be concerned as to why the level was going down, and would carry out the usual checks!

This must be the expansion tank your looking at? (must be ) - white bottle near the radiator.

Check radiator coolant level (Rad cap off when cold), and then fill the overflow tank to the MAX line, it will differ when hot or cold.

A 'little' loss is normal over time - notice a 'little'.

Personally I'd change coolant every 3-4 years, i noticed my coolant temp dropped when i changed it.

The expansion tank allow the coolant and air in the coolant system to expand with rising temperature and pressures, it just hold holds coolant that would otherwise be wasted, thus coolant flows back and forth as needed between the radiator and the expansion tank.

Yep, the white bottle near the radiator
So I can just unscrew the top and fill to the max level with......special coolant sold by Honda or... That white bottle seems to sit at an angle of 30 degrees or so.
Again, apologiies for being so dense.Embarrassing really.
Engine was cold when I checked it this morning.Just nearer the min than the max.Thought it was time to check oil, clutch fluid level, and coolant.

Yes - the one by your left headlight. Should you check the level when hot or cold? I can't remember, but it does say on the bottle.

Don't confuse the the coolant bottle with the screen wash bottle!

Last time I bought a bottle of coolant from Honda (when I had a leak) they told me that was the last 1litre one and from now on it'd only be available in 5 litres.

Fill it to the max level when cold, if it only needs a little topping up with tap water will be ok.

the coolnat level insite the radiator should be absolutely max.
if you see that some is missing - something is wrong.

reasons vary from as cheap as just retightening hose bands and go all the way up to "done" engine.......

The radiator level needs to be on max when cold.

The expansion vessel should be at the 'min' mark when cold.

It's an expansion vessel
