Default Cost of a replacement Key

Hiya,

After reading several posts which state different dealers charge different amounts I thought, for ordering a replacement key, that I'd have a ring around.

Just as an observation the comparisons were huge, the minimum (and luckily from my local garage) cost was

The JDM keys look much nicer, if prone to scratches.

I ordered a couple of JDM keys from my Honda dealer then took them to Norton Way to have them cut. They did that for free.

You have to be a bit handy with the Dremel though - prise off the silver covers from the JDM keys and drill out a hole big enough to fit the transponder chip from one of your original keys - the valet key will do.

Lots of info on this site regarding this.

Took them a few days to get them in, nice enough bunch. Looking to use them for my next service.
My Dad's used them for his last Honda and the new Mazda, and he seems fairly happy with them.

You really don't need to pay for reprogramming a key fob. My local dealer wanted to charge me
