key beep is from a small speaker somewhere in the dash, never tracked it down but I'm told it is part of a circuit board so it is not just an unplug job I just close the door or turn the ignition on

BTW the seatbelt one can be deactivated by unplugging the connector under the drivers seat. There is some debate whether this prevents airbags working or invalidates insurance though

No 2 never noticed

RAB, if it helps you sleep easier at night, my car goes straight from 0 to 2mph on the speedo.

I just went real slow down my drive almost stop then crawl away DOES make display read 1mph......... though it quite often jumps to 2mph if you try a few times

How sad...lol

Good! At least I'm not the only one who finds the beeping annoying. It was only the other day that my brother asked me if I'd posted on this forum about switching it off, so finally got round to it. Although looks like there's no real easy solution.

As for the 1mph - could be just a MY04+ thing!

I was in traffic this morning & mine registered 1 mph...and 2 mph...and 3mph...and..............

I held up the traffic in Reading this morning as well 1mph indicated here - seems to be easier to "get" while slowing rather than accelerating.
