At 140mph plus? You've got to be kidding, right?!

The Magistrates' Sentencing Guidelines say that whenever someone is done for travelling at more than 30mph than the posted limit, the presumption is that a ban should be imposed. You may, if personal circumstances are such that a ban would cause extreme hardship to you or others, get away with 6 points and a hefty fine.

Anything into three figures is going to cause you real problems, and a ban is pretty much inevitable.

When you're up into the realms of around twice the legal limit, you've got to expect some sort of custodial sentence, if only because these cases are the high profile ones and therefore get reported, and the courts have to be seen to be tough on people caught travelling at such speeds.

To be honest, if I was clocked at that speed, I'd have no-one to blame but myself and I don't think I would have any reasonable expectation of seeing my licence again for much less than a year (and probably more), or retaining my liberty.

so an indicated 115 is more like 100? hopefully there will be a chance to test the S2000 on a top speed run? Obviously you can't do that on a public road like the M25.....................

Indicated 115 is more like somewhere between 105 and 110, I suspect. I doubt it's as low as 100.

If ever you go to Bruntingthorpe, I'd guess you could do a top speed run there - the runway is 2 miles long, and so gives you plenty of room to hit VMax.
