True - my fault for not being clearer. It has a boot, but not a very big one (at least as I understand it). I simply meant it's nowhere near as practical as a CRV - or probably even a CTR, for that matter.
The boot in the 01 ITR I tested (a few years back) was pretty big. I used to look for this kind of thing in the old days when I was gigging a lot. It would hold a pretty huge bass amp

Silly question but which would you have?
A CRV or A CTR?

Forgetting the cash aspect. (CTR is actually cheaper than the CRV but I suspect more to run)
Is a CTR a "practical" car?
The CTR is immensely practical, with the back seat down, it's cavernous. We've had 2 mountain bikes in there. For anyone with more than a couple of rug rats, bear in mind that Honda wont even discuss fitting a 3rd rear seat belt as they class it as a 4 seater and it's described as such in the log book, so there could be insurance implications if you ignored that!

That apart though an S2K and a CTR?............. No brainer!

If you run out of space in the CTR you should try a Civic Type-S. Not as hot, but rides much better and has more space. Of course it still looks like a Taxi! My friend's wife has a CRV. He has an Scooby WRX. He hates going around bends in the CRV but likes the engine and ride. He had to take his wife's CRV in for a service and had a Civic Type S for the day. He was thoroughly impressed with the ride and handling and it is a good deal faster and more economical than the CRV or CTR.

I recently checked out a one year old type S for under 12 grand. A bargain. I was very tempted to buy it as a winter drive.
There are plenty of nearly new ones for around

Thanks for all your thought's guys. All good points. I've been swinging both ways all day.

I hear Shipley's points about winters etc. Probably the main reason to get the CRV back in 2002.
But Leggy also makes a very good point with the "Life is for living".

I've been trying to define what the requirement is... Why consider changing... And there really isn't a reason.
It's just because. I'm sure you know what I mean.
The CRV has been around for over 2 years and it may be time for a change.
I've no intention of changing the S2000, until it's for a TVR or Aston.

sigh

Ultimately, I'm going to leave the decision to Donna.
She'll be driving it more than me anyway.

I think she's swinging both ways at the moment too.
I'll point her to your comments.

I'll let you know once Mrs Cables CTR steering rack has been replaced. At the moment it is a horror to drive, the steering "sticks" and you have to wrestle it free which involves you veering all over the road.

Apparantly the Racks are assembled in Japan and storage causes the nylon bushes to swell.

car has done 12K

Well... Took one for a test drive today, got back and signed the paper work.
7th Nov should be seeing a red CTR replacing the CRV.

After Donna finished the drive her face was fantastic. She said it was the best ride she's had in her life.

What about an accord type r... Surely a contender?
A big family car, with more then enough grunt!
OK not that quick compared to an S/CTR/ITR, but still enough.

Cheers. Got it in Red too.
Well it'd be rude not to.

She can't wait. And I must admit, after thowing it around myself, I'm kinda looking forward to it too.
But the S will always be number 1.
