CTR to S2000
Just picked the S2000 up 2day and just noticed a few things and want to kno if this is normal. Coming from an EP3, the gears feel very clunky. is it ok or is it supposed to be as smooth as the CTR. Also I can feel roll in the corners. is it the chassie cos its a convertible or is it just tyre roll with it still having standard 16" wheels on thus big tyre walls. I had the type r lowered, the JDM rear anti-roll bar fitted and the low pro tyres so it was very good in corners. Is there much to do to counteract the roll too?

Hi there.
Difficult to say, but maybe pop along to a meet and go out in someone elses car to compare.
The gearbox should feel superb and not clunky.
The car does roll a little depending what you are used to. Might be worth checking tyre pressures.

Welcome,
Defo read the FAQs...alot of really helpful tips. The search facility on the forum is good too. The site takes a little getting used to compared to others (IMHO), but once you've mastered it, you'll find a ton of useful info.
Several people report 1st to 2nd being a little notchy. I find it smoother if I shift slower when the car is cold, then when warm, rev it a little higher than you're used to with the CTR, then change to 2nd, she'll slide right in.
+1 for the Cusco ARBs and braces, and definitely get the alignment checked after you've confirmed you've got decent rubber on your wheels that are inflated to the correct pressure.

I would probably say it is the tyres (even though i haven't driven one with 16" wheels) mines a later model on 17's, bog standard and it handles really well compared to my ctr which is lowered with jdm arb and loads of mods. As for the gearchange, it is slightly clunky but as Putney says its like a rifle bolt

and welcome
