S gearbox/transmision is clunky compared to a CTR,ive owned 2 S's and came from a CTR. I personally believe that the CTR is the slickest smoothest lightest gearchange of any car ive driven, however the S's gearbox is connected directly to the gearstick rather than being connected by cables or rods so will feel slighly more mechanical.

Having said that when the gearbox oil is warm its very quick to shift and is very good.

what tyres do you have and are they correctly inflated

i had goodyear eagle f1's when i bought the S, they were underinflated and it caused tramlining and a bit of a strange turn in sensation. was far better after i inflated them to 32psi

ive since changed to bridgestone re050a and the difference is amazing, much sharper turn in and less roll!

I came from a CTR too mate and to be honest I found that there was a little more feeling of roll in the corners too. Tbh i just think its down to the balance of the car being different, i got used to it very quickly and don't really notice at all now unless i'm in a fast sweeping bend! As for the gear change, the S should feel tighter and shorter than the CTR slightly but the changes are a tad heavier in feel.
