Phil - I remember trying to fit mine with no joy. I tried hacking the snorkel up to get it to sit lower and I adjusted the bonnet catch with no joy. The only option is to make a cut in the bonnet. I didn't want to do this myself, so it never got fitted.
However when I finally got myself a Mugen CAI I had to make that bonnet cut (I think the cut for the snorkel would be smaller). I used some computer "blow hole trim" to line the edge after it had been painted, just to tidy it up. I've still got to get the skin sprayed at some point.
TM - Where did you get your spray from for yours?
I used a Dremel to cut mine, with a grinding wheel/blade. If you do leave the bonnet on the car when you do the cutting, make sure you cover the engine bay and whole of the front of the car, as you'll end up with metal shavings everywhere
It's probably easier to take the bonnet off the car. Hindsight is a wonderful thing
Yep, but that was on a 51 plate, I seem to recall there being some fitment/quality issues with the 04> snorkels. I know Lee (FIELDL) had some horrendus fitment woes, with the bonnet protruding about 1/4 inch after fitment.
I don't know how this would marry up with your K&N, but it might be worth a look. A guy in Japan makes them, I have his website address at home if your interested.
Rteyp got it for me from some paint mixing shop. It still needed a laquaer on top. Still havent got around to mopping it so is smooth. The orange peel in there is more like an ugly fruit ATM
