New copper banjo washers arrived, fitted. No leaky leaky.

Car battery is dead. FML

Car charger was nicked out of the missus car a week ago. Argh.

I AM going to drive this car again one day lol.

EDIT: She lives!

Picked up a new charger yesterday and had the battery on, popped in today and she's running great. Needs a topup of brake fluid after the drips for a few days but I'm changing it all out anyway.

Oh and my rear view mirror fell off. Back on and secure again.

Drove it to work for the first time this morning, 20 miles form New Cross to Heathrow at 6am. Only one place to open it up really where the lights feed onto a 60mph stretch near the end, and when coming off the M4 elevated section (40mph) to the M4 real (70), but since everyone was doing 65 on the elevated anyway there wasn't as much chance! The rest of the drive is motorway and 30/40 streets in London where plod an cameras abound.

Regardless of that, many smiles per gallon. Car is still on 3 bars from its first fill and has done 220 miles. 100 or so of that has been motorway with a sticky caliper though.

Just been having a look at possibly replacing the alarm with a Toad AI606. The two fobs I have for this are banged up and it only bloody opens if your practically standing on it and the boot never releases (button inside works though). Secureacar.co.uk are in Stafford and might just come south enough to visit me in Worcester while I'm there to do it, they want £239 inc vat to fit one and have a 10% offer on their website so seeing if I can get that too.

Also asked them if a) they can wire one of the fob buttons up to pop the boot and b) close the windows when locking the car.

Popped to Halfords yesterday with 10% in store cashback and got their 200 piece socket/spanner pro set for £138 which was a bargain in my eyes. Been using my brothers 170 piece set for the last few weeks while doing these bits and was very pleased.

I can finally start to look at doing the fluids, the windscreen chip and sorting the paintwork too.

Well an expensive day all round!

My Octavia was in for its small service and a check on the coolant leak, turns out its a water pump on a car where a water pump change is not part of the service schedule, so it's fun to get at! £707 later off I trot.

Then to C&E Motors in Greenwich to collect my S2000 which had been in for the air con to be fixed. The issue was traced to a busted condenser. As you've seen on others the fins all started to come off and it was leaks galore. They also suggested changing the receiver dryer, but told me that the Honda price for the parts were £550 and £150 respectively and that if I knew anywhere else then I could let them know.

A bit of a punt around on the web took me to Advanced Radiators who could do a condenser and receiver dryer for about £80. I've seen others on here and PH use them so I gave C&E the number.

They ordered Thursday night and the parts didn't arrive till Monday evening. The receiver dryer was a perfect fit, but the condenser was not. The pins at either end were out by about 5 mm which could easily have been encouraged to fit, but one of the connecting aluminium pipes couldn't seat into the condenser properly. I took at look at the radiator while I was there as they explained the problem and the said they'd get me a price for doing both from another company that they've used before in Uxbridge, who get parts from Holland overnight.

Anyway. The car is now nice and cold and I'm another £999 worse off. The new rad, condenser and receiver dryer came to £700 as opposed to Hondas £1050 odd. I know I could have left the rad and done it myself later but it's done and I've got someone to go back to if any of it has problems. Also while it was there they got the windscreen chip repaired. It's still visibly cracked but you can't feel anything on the outside now.

Overall C&E were very very helpful after spending a lot more time faffing around than needed because we got the cheaper part from Advanced Radiators which didn't fit, so if you need any work done in the area I can heartily recommend them.

So my day has seen me spend £1706 between both cars!

A couple of weeks ago I also installed the popular bonnet dampers from Sokie Tech. They still haven't got the bracket right but I sent them an image and explained the problem and they replied that they'll look at it. A little coercion and they bent into shape. Very nice now being able to open it up without the normal strut in the way, and also open it tall enough for me to not crack my nut on.

Well it's been a while since the S2000 received any real love as I've been a busy little boy. Moved from London to Worcester a month ago and have been working like mad on the house for 6 months prior and since so both time and money has been tight.

The car was moved up to Worcester in mid Jan in what was quite possibly the most terrifying drive of my life. Rear tyres are legal but in need of doing and on the day I left work (near Heathrow) and headed to the new pad there was easily the most rain I'd ever driven in. Literally everyone on the M40 was doing 55.

Anyway, since then I've had to replace one of the fobs as the buttons had gone all manky, will do the spare too since I'm happy with the main now.

With my birthday coming up and the new house slowing down fractionally I can spend some money on getting some bits done in the next 6 weeks or so.

First up and the timeline decider is the rocker cover refurb via Spooner Restorations. £113.90 posted but he's booked up till April 21st so that's when any other work gets done too since I'll be sending my cover in rather than exchanging. Just going for the stock red and black crinkle.

Next up is getting the rear calipers refurbed too and coated black like the fronts were last year. The car's had a warm brown smell coming from the rear right since I got it so that should help. £200 from Bigg Red since I live locally and can drop off and collect.

New Dixcel ES pads will be going on the rear to match the front at the same time from BurnMotorsport for another £48.

Will be getting some Michelin Pilot Sport 4 fitted on the rear and possibly the front (need to check them) and an alignment done too.

Also in there I have a right front strake to fit as mine had an altercation with a kerb, and I've got all the necessary to finally sort my clouded headlights out. After that it'll be a good wash and a wax!

Still to do will be the alloys refurb and the BIIGGGGG service that it's due that wasn't done last year for it's 12th birthday as soon as I can find someone to do it properly.

Ta very much!

I might actually have seen you already. Didn't clock the reg plate but I saw what I thought was a moonrock around the Pershore station/cross area a few times in the last few weeks!

Decided that Performance Autoworks down in Fairford will probably be the chaps do do my big service as they get lots of decent mentions on various vtec/honda forums.

So my Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres are on the way. 2x 245/40/17 and 2x 215/45/17 came to £378.53 posted.

Called Wheel Specialist Birmingham and he said he'd refurb all 4 wheels for £220 including fitting these tyres, all will be going up loose and the rims will already have the old tyres gone.

Also just got myself a low profile quick lift jack and 4 ratchet stands and rubbers from sgs-engineering for £161.60. The jack was only £108 too which seemed reasonable.

At work now for a few days, hoping to get the wheels and tyres upto Wheel specialist on the 6th, then the rest will be done from the 14th.

Many months later!

Tyres are on and I'm very pleased. Not going to talk about how great the turn in is or how the lift off oversteer is better since I'd be talking out of my backside! I feel confident on them though which is nice.

Wheels look great in Black Chrome, they had a hard time with one and it needed to be stripped again after being done once, coating and it bubbling up (before I collected). Very pleased with Wheel Specialist Birmingham.

Sorted out the gearbox oil but didn't have a 23mm spanner or socket to do the diff at the time. Still on the to do list.

Rocker cover is also done and looking great in standard crinkle red.

Rear calipers were also refurbed by Bigg Red in black. I kept the old shoes in there as they looked nearly new. Might swap them out next time I'm working on it.

The jack is great, so nice being able to get under easily and raise up fast. The only issue is my drive is all gravel so it can make it a pain! Hoping to use a mates lockup to do bits in future. He's one of the lucky 18 to have a Peugeot 205 GTI 1FM which is quite cool!

Onto the bad, she's starting to give me the cold shoulder when I pull away, both sides. Mildly annoying given its done nothing but rain this year!

Had the 2 seals off that are held in by that one screw and both have splits in the same places, though they almost look like they are supposed to be there. Can't see why they would be, but also cant think it would make much difference, there are holes there anyway for water to get in and out. The metal bar there looked clean enough though.

Also I've noticed a rasp/vibration that sounds exhausty at around 4k, but also can just about hear it when idle. I think it's either the cat heat shield or the cat innards have come loose. Need to have a look in case its the latter and I take out an o2 sensor.

Also found that the bonnet catch didn't actually pop the bonnet. It seems previously the spring had rusted out and just been removed. You could open the bonnet just about if you could get your fingers in there. Instead of faffing with a new spring I just bought a new assembly from Hendy so that's got to go on too.

Oh, any my windscreen sprayers don't. Can't hear any pump noise so it might just be a fuse or might be the pump. I know it was replaced before by Wobbly who had the car before me.

The list goes on!

Attachment 168728

EDIT: 16/07/2016
Had a quick look at the washers, headlights work fine and the fuse is fine so a new pump ordered.
Went to put the new bonnet catch on and now it won't release at all. Since the footy was about to start and it was also about to rain, it'll wait! *some time alter* So the bonnet catch was fun. Shouldn't really take 3 hours to open your bonnet but never mind. Bonnet catch replaced. Ordeal here.

EDIT: 17/07/2016
While the car was up I checked out my vibration and it is deffo the heatshield, recorded a short vid to show the extent https://youtu.be/MurIA5maySE. 2 bolts missing so ordered replacements for all of them.

Also took the time to replace the diff oil and the engine oil and oil filter. Need to get a load of fittings ordered to replace a few that are now just rust piles or seized that were on the undertrays.
