Default Dead 12v and CD player

Hey guys,

I recently tried to blow up a tyre using one of the little motorised pumps that plugs into the 12v however when i plugged it in everything on the dash lit up and the 12v and cd player stopped working everything else is fine ie light controlls, ac, heater controlls.

I have tried changing fuses even tho they wernt blown to taking apart the center unit part to check the 12v, but i cant see any problems. As for the cd player i have tried putting in a new head unit to only get the same problem, it will take and eject a cd but the face wont light up and it wont play.

has anyone experienced the same problem before? is there mibby a hidden fuse somewhere that i cant find i just dont have the money just now to take the car to honda for them to charge me a bomb to fix it.

cheers
David.

Forget honda, probably a fuse you didn't notice?

I had the same and yes it was a 10 amp fuse from where he said. I am pretty sure it was the one for the stereo (even though it was the accessory socket that blew).

I too used a tyre inflator. DO NOT DO THIS!!

cheers

I use a tyre inflator all the time without any trouble.

It’s a decent branded one (Michelin I think) and I keep the engine running when I use it. I've never had a problem.
