Default Dead Electrics

So today I've been fitting some footwell LED's and i've somehow completely screwed the electrics up

I've no flashing LED for the immobilser, nothing on the dashboard when I turn the key, although I get the beep that tells me the key is in the ignition barrel. Interior lights work, headlights work but I don't appear to have power to the fuse box - the constant battery terminal on the fuse box has no output. All I've done is hook the wires for the leds into a wire going to an earth point, but I could have disturbed something whilst i was doing it i suppose.

Any ideas?

Had a look in the main fuse box under the bonnet? Reckon you've popped something in there

Yep you're right, blown the main 40A ignition fuse. Have soldered it back together for now to prove it, but won't drive it til I've replaced it with a proper one though

Goodness knows what you did to blow a 40A fuse!

I know, I've screwed up big time there somewhere, done loads of vehicle wiring in the past and never blown a fuse before, very embarrassed
