Mine are still a bit 'floaty' ATM (compared to the knackered RE050s) but with way more grip on cold, salted roads. Which feels very odd. I need to get the sidewalls to 'break'.

The front end seems unstickable under current conditions.

Now broken.

Sidewalls are softer than the 'Stones, but it makes it more steerable, without feeling wobbly. Bit like an 86.

Seems to be more steering feedback/slight tramlining. Probably self-aligning torque through the slightly softer sidewalls.

Scrubbing my AD08R 225/255 in today also& getting the feel of the new CR front Arb 396/311 Rear.

Digging this up as I just fitted a pair to the rear on my '99.

The backend feels much softer, which is a bit disconcerting. I feel the back end roll a little before it settles and turns in. It's quite minor, but coming from an early car with Bridgestones there was very little compliance or roll

Does that improve with time? I've probably only put 100 miles on them so far. Grip is good, but the balance doesn't feel the same.

100 miles they do feel floaty.

Then again, I won't mix tyres, so the front was likewise.

Now they are a bit strange - the extra sidewall float means you can rotate the car into the curve (like 4WS) and it just goes round fast, with the tyres making a tortured squelching sound. It's fast, but not really as much fun as the slidey, harder Bridgestones. I just cannot break the fronts loose on a dry road and the back end just follows, unless you put the power on way too early and then it rotates via sidewall slip and not tread slip.

The scary thing is at very high speeds on bumpy backroads - a tiny steering correction no longer has the effect it used to due to the slight additional sidewall slip/self-alignment torque and one must remember to make a larger input.

Retardation is also improved (my pads keep getting odourous) even if the car isn't perfectly in line with its treads. It actually feels a bit like an 86...
