Default Decat CEL Fix

Now then,

Just a quick question - I get the reoccurring CEL light from my decat - the lambda sensor throwing an error. I am tempted to get a fix like this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161248191941

Just wanted to know if there are any negatives when fooling the ECU that the sensor is reading ok. I would like to leave my CEL off in case the ECU throws an actual error. Saves me having to check it with my OBD2 scanner every drive. Also does this actually work? just before I go to buy one. I see it says fill her with wire wool if shes still throwing the error.

Could it potentially affect my MPG as I am on ~32 at the moment.

Cheers
Earl

I think it is just because they are out of stock, don't worry I wont be spending over £20, saw one for around £8 on eBay just now.

The question might be stupid, but I am not that bloody stupid

Ordering couldn’t be simpler, just send your payments by a popular payment method with two P’s to sales@tarmacsportz.co.uk . Pop a reference “BLOX CEL ELIMINATOR” on the transaction and pop a note on the thread to say “Payment Sent” and we will despatch asap

BLOX UNIVERSAL ADJUSTABLE EXHAUST MANIFOLD DECAT O2 LAMBDA ANGLED FOOLER / BOSS

This auction is for one BRAND NEW lambda sensor fooler.
Fits between your lambda sensor and the exhaust to stop the light coming on when decatting a vehicle.
Direct bolt on.
Please note this will stop the light coming on but you may need to reset your ECU to turn the light off first.
Also if your car is heavy fueling you may need to stuff some wire wool into the tube to give a big more restriction before the sensor.

Fits:
Universal fitment - M18 x 1.5mm thread

That's quite a price hike!

I've had one on the car for quite a while now, so they seem to do the job and shouldn't give you any problems.

Christ , it's just a male/ female adaptor in a bit of mild steel or even SS , to take the sensor away from the hot gas flow , I bet they cost about 10p to produce , what is the thread ? Wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't find a standard pipe fitting to do the job from a pipe supplier.

Now I know the sizes, I think I'll just 'fabricate' one myself, same time...£9 might end up being the simpler option. But yeah it is ridiculous the markup on these things even at under a tenner.

Yeah I didn't think you'd be paying that. I was just amazed when the linked opened. Insane.

There are no negatives, just use it on the second sensor
