Diff broken .......
...well, probably. The honda garage are stripping it down to have a look at what's causing the juddering type noises/vibrations from the rear end. They reckon its a knackered diff, and so do I. The worst bit is the time between now and the time they tell me whether it's covered under the extended hondacare warranty or not. If it isn't, then I'll get stung for the labour done so far as well as the repair ......... bye bye s2000, hello ford mondeo probably.

If its anything major, then I would be surprised if you were not covered.....
I can hardly see a diff being classed as wear and tear. As for negligence - as long as the car has been serviced correctly at the correct intervals then u have nothing to worry about IMHO as who (ok, maybe Brian - and good on ya fella if u have the bottle to do it) ever messes around with a differential.
Not your average Honda customer. I reckon you'll be covered just nicely dude.

I'm clutching on to that thought ......! Stupidly, I left the warranty in the service book which I handed in to the dealer - but if memory serves right, I was under the impression the only exclusions for the extended hondacare warranty were wear and tear and neglegence - anyone care to back that up? I'm in need of some reassurance to relieve my worry!!
Well - they need to replace the differential at a cost of just under 4 grand. The claims office, however are still umming and aahing as to whether or not they will cough up. It's a nightmare waiting for their decision! I don't know what process they need to go through to decide - will they send someone to the dealership to inspect the car? Or will they call me to ask me questions? Does anyone have experience of claims and how long they usually take to decide?
