Not used my car for a while not liking the looks of the discs, will they pass an mot or have they had it?

I'd be looking at new discs and pads all round.

TBH, you'd probably get away with new pads on front, but rears have a big lip so best to change.

Time for new ones, there are some great deals to be had on a well known auction site where you can get a full set of decent discs and pads for not a lot of money so definitely worth doing.

There's a decent offer on in the Traders section - HEL are doing a disc and pad offer atm.

They don't actually check the disc thickness during an MOT, just the effectiveness of the brakes. You'll probably get an advisory informing you about the rust on them if it passes.

Fronts look like they'll clean up with use as long as the pad is ok.

Rears you need new pads and discs without a doubt.
