Going off-topic... If I'm seeing that right (and I think I am!) thats a Toda engine, with Individual Throttle Bodies, heat wrapped exhaust manifold (and coolant pipes!) and a nice air collector for the ITBs too!

Thats a serious engine right there!

I'm seeing a Toda sticker, rather than engine StevenM bought some Toda cams off either Brian or Nigel, so I'm not sure what the seller swopped to. However, none of the aftermarket cams appear to have made any gains amongst the US guys - the Hytech cams are eagerly awaited.

Do you see ITBs buried within the hypertune plenum? I can't remember what the standard fuel rail looks like to spot the giveaway indications.

EDIT: The Toda sticker could indicate the cam gears that I suspect Nigel is running. This is the magic Toda part that Brian was intimating on Dark Blue Mark's "Power" thread.

When repositioning the intake you must consider the absolute air pressure at the intake oriface. Positioning the intake in areas of high flow - low pressure could easily lose you power as the engine has to suck that bit harder. Also there will be a pressure drop in long ductiing that will have negative effects.

With intake temperatures, the most gains should be had from insulating the aluminium casting from the direct contact to the head. I believe this is the function of the Hondata gasket I keep seeing mentioned?

surely if the heat from the intake manifold effects the heat of the air intake more than the temperature of the air entring your cars under bonnet than this surely would be worth investigating.

taking the temparature at the intake manifold must be worth a shot. I may mean than all your efforts are not contributing as you first thought.

I bought them from Nigel and it was he and Brian that installed them.

That is cause the US guys don't know how to install them properly. Nigel certainly got some good gains from them.

Presumably because he also used cam gears?
