When you say 20 hours prep work, what exactly does that intail...? Do you have to prep the paint in any way or just make sure its nice and clean? And how did you apply the vinyl - lubricant, heat gun etc?

Thanks

What i meant was that it was 20 hours inc the prep work. making sure the car was clean, going over it with alcohol. removing bumpers to get in the creases. Without a heat gun, wrapping a car would not be possible.the paint needs to be at room temp and once the vinyl gets a quick blast from it. it becomes very easy to stretch.

The wings were not that difficult due to the heat gun helping over the angles. The main issues were the bumpers.

That looks brilliant mate, really like the Matt White colour! I would be interested in a wrap but £600 is a lot of money particularly given the results you have received.

how'd you work that out?
as whats been said, about £150 for supplies, and the rest would be labour; £450.
when it took the OP 20hours todo it, i'd say about 1 day minimum for a pro, so £450 isnt too far off for a days work.

i could be wrong, but all the Sky and dynorod vans are all vinyled - they certainly take more of a beating than your own car, and they last a number of years without issues, so lifespan isn't much of a concern imo.

edit: wont the OP need to inform DVLA of a colour change now for V5?

The cheapest quote i got was £750 to wrap my car. so i am going on the basis of £600 labour and £150 for materials.

DVLA doesnt need to be informed as it is not a permanent colour.

Sorry I wasn't saying £600 for a wrap was a lot, I was trying to say it would be hard to justify spending £600 when the OP achieved such good results doing it DIY.

My bad wasn't that clear

I have considered this too, but I like to polish my car and you can't polish this stuff can you, and even if you did it wouldn't shine would it ? I do like the look of it ... at least on the photos would be good to see it in the 'plastic' so to speak for a proper judgement. You did a great job!

looks awesome,

you should set up a business to do it, from the look fo the work done to your car i think you could get a fair bit of interest, especially if you could under cut the others by say half,
