Do i have a problem with my clutch?
Just had to make a quick get away out of my dads drive, i reversed out into the main road then set off in 1st. Probebly had about 4K on when i dumped the clutch, and all i get was clutch slip............ho and the smell!
Is this normal? is the clutch capable of spinning the rear wheels in the dry?
I did a search and there is a lot of talk in the states re clutch slip.
any ideas?
P.S. i did have my foot all the way off the clutch whilst it was slipping.
cheers

An aquaintance of mine reports the following:
"Once it starts slipping, you have to back right off the accelerator, regardless of the clutch being out. This happened to me last week, & even kept slipping through gear changes ! Lots of smoke, and gassed out fellow S2K owners. Not trying clutch drops ever ever again - no sirree. "
He asked me to mention this anonymously just in case Honda UK Warranty department monitor the forum.
PS: The smell has been described as burning cat urine. I don't agree - it's far worse.

If you have to drop the clutch then a proper side step of the pedal gets the rear tyres lit up, just a toe on the corner of the pedal has been suggested as a good means of acheiving that digital clutch action...
