Default Do I need to prep the soft top?

I've been putting off fitting my hard top, trying to enjoy every last chance of sunshine, but I have had to admit defeat now and fit it. But before I do, is there anything I need to do to the soft top before its folded away for the next 4 months or so? I am a little concerned about the material being folded away for so long, will it need treating to help prevent possible damage? Cheers guys

You could give it a clean and treatment like Aerospace 303 protectant or similar. Make sure its dry before you fold it away. Apart from being dry thats it.

Thanks that was just the answer I was after. I was slightly worried about the material suffering while it was folded away, creases and cracks etc.

Don't forget your roof is actually made of vinyl, albeit made to look like mohair ...

Check on the forum, I believed theres another owner who tie it down using some kind of elastic material to prevent it from rattling.

Mine ended up with some small cuts above each latch.

I couldn't work out how or what had caused these?

I am now a little worried about sticking it back down again.

Cheers for the pointers guys, the last thing I want in the Spring is to take the roof off and have a mouldy ripped hood underneath!

if you have a plastic screen roll a big towel up and put it in the folded window to stop it getting a crease line
