Default Door protector

I knew it was only a matter of time before someone opened their door and whapped it into mine but I thought it would take longer than 2 months! The dent is easily fixed but I wonder if anyone has found a way to protect against this. The dent is right in the middle of the door so the protector would have to go all the way across the door. Is there anything out there that would do the job without spoiling the lines of the car?

Bummer! Why are there so many thoughtless a***holes in this world?

Do you mean like a plastic/rubber strip running horizontally across the door

I would have thought that would look awful.

Halfords sell loads of these protector strips in all colours and formats.

I can't imagine any of 'em doing anything for this car though. Anally retentive defensive parking is the only way. I know,....... you come back and some brain donor's parked 6" from your driver's door. Bloody annoying!!

Short of putting parking pylons around your car, there isn't much you can do about this sort of thing except pick your parking spot wisely. I been lucky for over a year of daily driving that I have not had a door ding yet. I consider this sort of thing to be inevitable and I can't prevent it so when it happens, I'll get even if the circumstance permits and I am positive of who did it. Otherwise, I just have to live with it.

Can't really disagree with this approach Dave, but a 'friend' of mine who has been known on occassion to take this approach says he finds the satisfaction somewhat stilted by the fact that the offending vehicle is usually a mobile $hit heap anyway!

Yep, supermarket car parking is a guaranteed way to get mother and child matching door dings.....

As suggested, the only way to avoid door dings is to avoid paralled parking. There are limits to how practical this approach is with a 'daily driver'. I owned my Prelude for 5 years, 43000 miles and only aquired 1 (very nasty) door ding (combination of luck and very selective parking). This ding was dealt with perfectly by 'Dent Wizard' (
