Dry sumps
Does anyone know if a dry sump kit is available for the S2K engine ?
Are there any companies that race prep the cars for any race series anywhere in the world ? Do they have to strengthen the engine at all to cope with the stresses of a race environment ?

There are quite a few running baffled wet sumps - Mugen for one. But I've not heard of a dry sump system for the F20C.
One other thing to think about, is there's a recall about to start (started in the US already.) to change some oil jets IIRC. Now I'm guessing the question's for Nutter so it won't be a warranty job, but getting this change done, plus a baffled sump would seem like the best plan currently.

Thanks Brian,
It's actually for Nutter2 - Proper Job !
There's 2 reasons for the dry sump..
1) probably would help the engine under the high G cornering that a Caterham is capabable of
2) The engine sits about 1" to high in the Caterham chassis so we either have to have a dodgy bonnet bulge affair or by dry sumping it we can lower the engine down around another 2" or so.
Engine recalls could be an issue I guess unless we can find a friendly Honda dealer willing to do it. The engines we'd look at getting would be from write offs and direct from Japan
I wonder if the baffled sump is any shallower ?

Shouldn't that be "Nutter-2 Even More Bonkers"
The Mugen baffled sump is the same size as the original - so you won't gain any clearance.
It might be worth contacting Mardi-Gras. They can certainly supply some S2000 parts. They've race prepped ITR's in the past, so I reckon they might know anyone who can supply a dry sump for the F20C.

This thread has some pictures of the new parts. The bolt also contains a spring loaded check ball, presumably to stop oil draining through the oil feed.
The bolts should be easy enough to fit, once the sump is off. Part numbers are on the photo if you want to try to obtain them.
