Default DVLA

Just tried to renew tax on line, having been invited to do so by the blurb from DVLA and for the 2nd year have not been allowed to. No changes in circumstances, MOT last month................
What is the point of giving me a personal reference number and telling me to renew on line and then not letting me
Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

Just you.

Are you sure it's not just because you're trying to do it less than halfway through the month? They tell you not to do it before the 15th of each month, don't they?

Thanks, thought it might be me
The blurb tells me you can now apply for a new tax disc after the 5th day of the month before the tax disc is due to start - not the 15th anymore.

Used to do it to me when my insurance, tax & MOT where all with in a month.
I'd guess it is due to the MOT not having updated on their system yet.

I cannot do this until after 22nd when insurance renew as both insurance and tax due in same month - however after 22nd no problems ... suggest try in a couple of days - usually works

also

If the MOT isn't sorted they won't issue the tax. It's a bit of a pain if you're not sure the car will pass the MOT but that's the way it is I suppose.

If it stops people cheating the system then I have no complaints. Provided they repeal the new price structure...

There's a lot to be said for staggering your tax, MOT and insurance, as convenient it is to sort it all in the same month.
