Default Ebay Radiators

Hi All,

Has anyone tried using an ally race radiator off ebay?

I seem to remember buying one when i had my old civic and the quality wasn't too bad...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-S200...item1c2361b6c6

If not i will either go with Tegiwa, or spend an extra £100 and go with Mishimoto.

cheers

i guess its like anything, im sure it would do the job. Although you get what you pay for. Replica parts can sometimes be a b1tch to fit.

It's the same as the ebay ones anyhow, at least the description is word for word the same. I've looked at the same but for the small price difference I think I'm going to get a tegiwa one as I've read a few people using those with no problems.

Cheap alloy rads I have seen fail, but I can't justify to myself the extra cost of such as mishimoto ones. I think teigwa sort of sits in the middle between the 2

Unless you absolutely need it, stick with OEM. Alloy rad will often end up weighing more anyway.

I just bought one from ebay, turned out to have the extra thick end tanks but with the standard thickness core 16mm IIRC, looks wierd and performs no extra function. This was labelled as a twin core high flow radiator, needless to say that I ended up getting a refund. I looked at the mishimoto ones, but they are £220 PLUS VAT which was out of my price range.

I finally bit the bullet and bought one from Tegiwa against my better judgement, but it arrived the next day as they promised, whilst it is slightly heavier than the OEM one, the core is a full 50mm thick and it appears to be well made. The only snag I had was that I had to file the lower fan mounts on my fan to get them to fit perfectly, other than that I really have no complaints, a good piece of kit especially for the money.

In short if you are not going to get a standard replacement, go for a Tegiwa one.
