I've got yellow stuff on the rear and they are very good once warm.
I've found that they can be a bit squeaky when cold and not to great at holding the car on the handbrake.

I think the conclusion here is to get yellows. Oh, and remove your splash shields too

How do you mean the disks look awful with reds? they damage them or just aesthetics?

Also what does a reservoir brace do? besides the obvious.

I don't want to do track days or even serious hard driving. but when my pads are worn I want to up the brakes a bit. Would reds therefore be adequate for me? also just read yellows not good for handbrake and I have a fairly steep driveway!

Also would plain disks be adequate rather than drilled/grooved ones, which yes decrease fade, dont give any significant improvement on road braking but do wear pads out quicker?

I used reds on standard discs and fresh fluid. I was impressed for street use, nice and bitey. Although they were on fire at a trackday, leaving a crumbled mess by the end of the day.

I used to have Ferodo DS2500 pads and then Dixcel Type R pads on my old S2000 and had a very steep drive. I just left the car in gear as well as applying the handbrake and it was fine. The handbrake occasionally slipped as i dipped the clutch the start the car, but pulling it up another notch dealt with that.

Croc, I told you on your other thread about Dixcel, but nobody seemed to be listening.

Not tried the EBC yellow stuff, but my previous pads were red stuff and now I am using DS2500.

From personal experience, the DS2500 feels a stronger braking force than the red stuff. The down side of DS2500 is that it does not come with anti-squeak pads on the back so you do hear brake squeak from time to time. The DS2500 doesn't comes with brake wear metal plate either so you don't get the audio-able pitch when your pads are low.

I have just taken delivery of a full set of yellow stuff which I hope to install this weekend. £115 from camskill. I will report back when I have had a chance to try them.

Fried my OEM rear pads at Donington just over a week ago and fronts (also OEM) were fading.
