Undo the kneepad thing on the center console, on the side of the CD cubbyhole. It's one screw and there is a big shiny earth bolt under it.

Jam a paperclip into the end two pins (1 and 9) and then loop a wire from it to the earth bolt. Then twist the key (don't start).

The ECL light will flash periodically. Count the number of quicks and slows and then look up that number in the FAQ.

Nope, no luck, no flashing engine management light after trying the paperclip fix.

If I reset the ECU by pulling and replacing the appropriate fuse, I would assume the system will still warn if it encounters the fault again?

yup, the error is cleared, and will light the ECL on reoccurance.

Mine is a MY00 and an Import .. so I can't tell you which is the bit that makes it work. But it defo does for me.
