Default ECU Reader

My engine management light came on this afternoon and it's only been a month since the 45k service.

Only problem is, I really need the car next week and the earliest my local dealer can see the car is Friday.

Does anyone have an ECU reader in the Reading area that I could plug to pull down the code?

You can get the code off the ECU with just a paperclip .. I have done this a few times (esp when doing my SC install).

You'll get a 2 digit code, and then can look it up on the FAQ.

I made a post about it ages ago.

It's not flashing but I did have to start the car using jump leads as the battery was flat....

Probably just a spike but I would rather know...

With the paperclip?

You earth that pin, and turn the key to IGN, and the engine light flashes.
You count how many, and then look it up in the FAQ.
