Default Eeek, engine issues?

Evenin' all,

I know I'm going to get a pasting for this but I made the error of pushing into VTECland with just a single bar of heat on the temp gauge. I was gobsmacked when the engine sort of 'pinched up' at around 7k. I caught it straight away on the clutch and changed up and carried on driving. Got home two mins later and it ticked over just fine sounding great.

I'm certain it didn't jump out of gear, and I can't believe it actually nipped up (surely the ring tolerances can't be that fine on a 38k mile car???). Any ideas what could have happened or should I consider it a slap on the wrist and a reminder to warm the car thoroughly?

Cheers for any replies,

Ali

If it was really clever it would immobilise the engine and not work again until you'd signed something promising never to try this again.

If it was really, really clever it'd stop the engine, leap out of the bonnet, grab me by my throat and shout "Do you have ANY idea what you're doing to me??? Do you? Know what this stuff if monkeynuts? It's oil, not bloody paraffin. TenbloodyWbloodyforty! Now get back in and drive. Carefully!"

At least that way I might take notice.....
