Electrical problem
Electrics are not my forte......I am going to Spain next week and I have a Halfords cooler in my boot for the beers, sorry milk, I run the fridge from the 12v socket, but if I also charge my iPhone and the satnav the 10A fuse blows. I've tried a 15 A but that also blew. The fridge has a label on it giving this info.. Model TC-26-12 Power input 47W. I ran these items in my old Fiesta with no probe, any ideas apart from don't run everything at once?
Cheers, Nige.

Nige,
First thing - never replace a fuse with one of a higher rating. It's there to protect the electrical circuit from burning out and damaging cabling etc.
From my simple maths, the info you've given calculates to the fridge being a ~4 Amp load. What are the amp ratings of both your other chargers? I'd be surprised if they total up to more than 10A, but can't be sure.
Am I also right in reading that you keep the fridge in the boot? Where do you feed the charger cable through for easy access?

IIRC optional 12V socket in the boot but it probably shares with the one in the centre console and that one shares with the radio.
If you want issue free running - run a seperate 10A fused feed and socket in the boot from the fusebox - plenty instructions showing which pins to use for that.

Thanks, I've now replaced with a 10A again. The fridge is in the boot, I routed a 12v accessory extension lead from the socket in the car through to the boot via the spare wheel space. The lead plug then allows me to plug this https://uk.storeslider.com/rockland-...17639166e.html into it in a piggyback manner. The usb charger is rated at 5A 2100mA. My satnav is 5V 2000MA and my iPhone is a 4s. You're correct, I've googled the fridge and it is about 4A. I can't do the maths but its obviously overloading the socket.
Thanks again. And cheers unclefester, your reply is probably the way forward.

The fridge switches on and off with the ignition leaving the 12v out let to charge iPhone and satnav. Road tested, all fine. About an hour to fit. Well chuffed, thanks for the input guys!!
