I saw a girl the other day driving behind me, talking on her phone with one hand, finding a cigarette and lighting it with the other hand, and trying to change gear and navigate a roundabout at the same time

If you can't touch your phone while driving, then why should you be able to drive with a cigarette permanently in one hand. At least if you have to drop your phone to deal with something, it isn't going to burn you! And people don't tend to throw their phones out of the car window to hit the car

Actually that might be a short term thing.
There was some oik in The Times the other day advocating banning motor cycles

I think you can smoke via bluetooth now.

Plus, a diesel Volkswagen is pretty cool. Step up from an S in my eyes. But I`m not starting smoking to keep mine though.

There are so many regulations now it is crazy. Carry a warning triangle, high vis vest, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, spare bulbs, spare engine, gearbox etc!

Well if using a phone is illegal, why not smoking?

Why is it ok to drive with one hand so you can have a fag, but speaking on the phone is banned? I guess you could say it about all sorts of things, eating, drinking, etc.
Exactly. When they banned phones they should have banned smoking too. You shouldn't be doing anything in a car except driving.

People who smoke in a car with the windows down annoys me too. If smoke is so lovely why not shut the windows and keep it all inside?

People who flick their douts out the window need a f*cking kicking too, and usually get a flash of the headlamps from me if I'm behind them.

I always thought it was odd that eating and drinking, and holding a phone are all illegal to do whilst driving, but setting something on fire is legal.
