I'll have a look at the Farnborough event, think I'll end up with another busy (and expensive) year!
Not sure if I'll be all that competitive in A3 as it will, I expect be dominated by the GT3's, especially now Brian's leaving the 996 GT3 RS at home and seams to be giving a brand new 997 GT3 RS a bit more track time. So I expect i'll try out a number of new venues.
I figured I buy something like an Z3m or 911 for a year before buying a boring everyday / tow car and something more track focused to either sprint or race, quite like the idea of a radical for 2012 or maybe some circuit racing.
With regards to the french events, someone mentioned that a roll cage is required, do you know if this is the case?

If thinking Z3, talk to Derek who sprints one and does a few SE events (he was at Goodwood) and can probably give good advice. Didn't know Brian had got a new GT3....that should go a bit faster. You could always go Skyline like that fast purple one!
French event didn't need a roll cage....but might do in a soft top. However, given the death of a couple of leading french hillclimbers this year (notable Lionel Regal) it's likely HANS devices will be made mandatory for GB drivers (they already are for the locals).

Yeh , I was hoping to speak to Derek as he often goes well in the Z3 but haven't seen him out much in the second half of the year.
Skyline would be an option but for some reason they're not a car I've ever really liked I'm a bit of a RWD convert although still need a fair bit more practice to get it right.
The very clean purple skyline had a minor off at Lydden in October and left with a reasonably significant dent in the rear wing, It was a horrible event never been on such a greasy track, I was fairly useless as the S2000 was not inspiring much confidence
It might have been Hans I was told about, but if your using hans I guess you need bucket seats and harnesses and I would have thought a cage would be recommended if using harnesses.

@andy - yep need harnesses with hans and should also have a roll bar. Lydden in the wet is very greasy. Check out one of my videos from end of last year....never got to do Lydden this year either...
@Jonsey - I've done 3 seasons in the car and I think it was seriously tracked for about 2-3 years before I got it. High mileage car (just under 150k miles) but pretty much everything is has been replaced at least once, particularly the running gear.
