Engine cutting out when cold
Over the last couple of days the engine cuts out when cold, its sometimes does it when warm but not as often, its as if the idle rpm is too low if anybody is old enough its like a old car with manual choke not being used in cold weather
dont have any cell lights and car feels OK in all other scenarios
whats the likely culprit ? any tests to fault check?
can idle speed be altered? or is it al black box controled
thanks for any help

If no CEL then I'd be checking for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold. The rubber does perish over time so check all the hoses especially where the hose(s) join the manfold.
Other possibilities are the EACV and even loss of compression. Best to check the vacuum hoses first before moving on to more difficult things to check.

I would think it's your ECU mapping. Probably needs a tweak for the extremely cold temps. Common problem.
Did you read my reply on your fuel indication, btw?
You went quiet on that one!

Not sure it's the piggy back as I believe the AEM only alters
The origional map when on boost
I have just had updated pulleys fitted but will check
I will also check the vacuum hoses
My prime suspect is the TB bypass valve that controls idle
Speed
MB
I think you are on the money with the fuel sender problem
I just have not had the time or inclination to fix it

I agree, prob not worth fixing, just a visial adjustment on the guage will do!
RE the cutting out when cold, I think someone else on here had an identical problem with the AEM. The AEM is a totally new map, rather than a copy of your OEM one. The mapping points for really cold ambients are often estimates extrapalated from known points when mapping, and can require tweaking. Only when you actually encounter cold temps does the issue appear.

Oxhouser, maybe a crap suggestion but could the ICV be crapped up?, I cleaned mine about a year ago it was really dirty, its only a 15min job.
Also, wasnt there another guy who had a problem with the map on the AEM in similar circumtances?
Ok
Just finished a 260 mile trip and it's cutting out even when warm
I think the AEM FIC only works on boost so should effect
Idle
What controls idle and where are the components located?
