Engine flush?
Hello chaps,
Was wondering if anyone uses engine flush on their S'. Reason I ask is that I plan to start doing the usual oil and filter change every 3 months and wanted to start a fresh with everything so want to do an engine flush.
Is this advisable on the S?
If its not I wont touch the stuff and will only do an oil and filter change. thinking of either 5w/40 due to only doing 7 miles each way to work so temperature willl build up quicker if not only doing the usual 10w/40 fully synthetic.
Many thanks

when I do a change.. I let it drain for really a long time..
put the plug back in loose.. then add a little more oil into the engine..(obviously don't start the engine)
and then drain again... and do this until I see clean oil coming through..so make sure the sump crud has gone.
I use Redline for the change.. but use some bright coloured mobil1 for the little flush..so you can see it coming through.

I used STP complete cleaner from halfords, thumbs up from me, maybe its placebo but the cars feels perker, and it cleared my ecu light for misfire which i believe was the injectors that needed cleaned.
well been to halfords but forgot to pick up the flush!! DOH! never mind trip out in the morning to get some from local car shop. Noticed Halfords dont do the oil filters! any reason why? Had to pay

Dunno about the F20c, but it is seriously recommended that you NEVER use flush on a VTEC engine.
Allegedly, it focks up the VTEC locking pins, lost motion thingies & causes all sorts of problems.
VTECs also dirty their oil very quickly due to the high revs, especially as the engines age.
Just change the oil more often if worried.
Honda engines are good for extraordinary mileages, usually.
