Someone I know went to start their S yesterday and the engine management light came on and she was reving between 1500 and 2000 fluctuating up and down between this revs when idling, She has never done this before, anyone got any ideas??

 

Blimey, its quiet on the reply front today, thought someone must have had this happen before. Oh well.

 

Something wrong with the idle control system, I don't suppose a new intake has been fitted recently at all ??

 

Nope, car has always run fine. It has just moved to another part of the country, didnt know if it could be damp, or different pertrol or something.

 

Is it on a cold start?

It wont be fuel related.

Of course we could be here all day, unless you tell us what the CEL was
