Default ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT! :(

hi all,
my engine management light has come on and the car is over idling and reving itself. other than that runs smoothly no juddering when u drive it and hasnt gone into limp mode.
only thing ive done to it recently is change to a spoon filter with the airbox cover off, but thats been like that a week and no probs till now.
any ideas ?

You need a code reader to read the code. where are you based?

camberley in surrey, take it that means i need to take it to honda?

There are loads of S2K'ers in Surrey. The place is overrun by them.

I'm sure one of them will have a code reader, and will be able to offer their services.
Not me though, I'm fecking miles away.

Did you install your decat yet? It's probably emissions but check your oil as well

no havnt installed the decat yet, have checked oil aswell that is fine.

Sounds like a sensor issue - you need a code reader to pull the code and define the fault.

Easiest thing is to pop to a dealer and get ot diagnosed - it only takes 5 minutes with a reader to get the code.

Then you can reset the ECU and see if the problem returns

You may have nudged something iff the idle control soleniod while doing the filter.
