Default Engine note changed....

My car has now done over 12k miles and after a bit of a motorway blast last weekend I have noticed the engine note has changed a little. Certainly sounds louder, and a little more 'raspy' and throaty. Quite hard to describe, other than were before it sounded quite quiet and smooth, it now is louder and a little 'rougher' sounding.

Just wondering if this is normal or whether theres something more sinister going on? Oil levels are full ( and have been since I bought the car at thge beginning of the year; it hasnt used any). Car pulls fine all the way through the rev range. Maybe me just being paranoid....

I always think it sounds a bit rougher in the warmer weather.

Go for a drive at night.

I have had the airbox lid off, but it is now back on. More of a metallic noise than the airbox off.

Maybe just paranoid.

I know my induction noise changed (for the better) when I put a Mugen CAI and Spoon throttle body on.

Just make sure the air box is clear of any debris.

It's probably running a tad richer due to the higher air temps and high humidity that's all....
