Engine Oil jet and Spark Plug Product Update
This may be old news guys but I just got an email from Honda UK saying that a product recall will be issued for oil jets and spark plugs on the 12th of September!!!!!
Damn! I only have 1500 miles and I really don't want to have the special oil drained prematurely! Shit!

I'm at 4,800 miles and I haven't had to add any oil for about a month so presumeably the car is fully run in and I can do without the special additive oil
A free oil change would be sort of nice as I was planning on leaving it until the first service at 9,000 and the oil is looking rather murky, I've read its a pretty intrusive procedure though so I'm not so happy about having the guts of my car tinkered with but recall - hey ho, don't want any warranty issues arising if anything goes wrong one day and I didn't have a recall performed
NEED4SPEED - I'd ask the dealer if they will be adding anything to the replacement oil to make it the same as the "special factory oil" - yeah right else where do you stand if you postpone the work for a few thousand miles?

Really don't know what to do!
But I don't think we will be sent a letter - the email stated that I would need to contact my local dealer and have them check my VIN number to see if my car needed the update.
My car was delayed in Belgium - something to do with the oil - blah blah blah - I am hoping that these changes were made!
Or I think I will porbably delay the recall for a bit - and drive my car everyday!
Mt car is still using up oil at the moment! I am upto 1500miles and managed top use 1/2 litre...

NFS, IIRC there should be a centre punched indentation over one or two of the characters on your VIN plate under the bonnet if the recall has been performed already at the PDI centre. Might be worth a look?

I agree with you Rob - Honda UK are so damn stupid!
My mate in Japan told me that the engine valve cover bolts are marked with a yellow paint to indicate that the recall has been done - checked that but no paint on the bolts.
Have to check what Tif said... fingers crossed!
